Remote ID KILLERS! E-Flite UMX Planes - Model AV8R Episode
Fun, inexpensive, and RID exempt! In Model AV8R episode 147, Adam will finally share a few quick thoughts on Remote ID after many have asked for our take on it. Then we take a look at the value of the UMX and Micro planes from E-flite...especially in the used plane market. Great deals are out there to be had, and there are also some spare parts available when you know where to look. These planes are all Remote ID EXEMPT, and that is becoming another great reason to own a few. We'll show you a few of our finds and then fly two of them for you - they are truly REMOTE ID KILLERS!

For training? In my opinion the HobbyZone AeroScout. Also, we have a training video on landings coming out soon.
@@ModelAV8RChannel do you have any that are good in wind because I live in Kansas and the wind is like always ten or fifteen
I feel like alot of the older umx planes will come back, depending on how popular they were in the past! Imagine ripping around a 3s or 4s micro mosquito!! I also feel they will start making umx planes bigger too, Like the draco.
Most of those old molds are long gone, and even if they aren't, those airframes would not be up to the new more powerful 3s and 4s power systems. The Gee Bee for instance has thin under cambered wings...flimsy compared to the newer full airfoil stuff. In our Draco video we tell you that is the start of what will be a new line of models designed to be right at the 250g limit. The "Micro" line rather than "Ultra Micro". They will make models in both lines.

What is the largest 2 cell pack I could use ?
John I'm actually not sure. I know I've heard of folks using 450mah packs in it, and you may be able to go bigger. It is a good size battery bay for an ultra micro. That said...I always prefer the UMX stuff as light as I can fly them. Grams count a lot at this size.

Hey Adam, this isn't really about this plane but I remember watching your videos and you talk about a way to bind in safe mode that you can get more deflection.. at least I'm pretty sure it was on your channel that I saw it. I was trying to look for a way to message you or email you but I couldn't find one
Hey John, if you look in the "about" section of our YT channel you can get the email there. I'd link it here, but every time I try to YT won't allow the comment?? So anyway, you get more deflection in AS3X mode. SAFE actually limits the deflection. You should be able to see if you hold full up elevator and flip between the two you'll get more in AS3X mode.

I am not a fan of styrofoam airplanes but this airplane is far better than it has any right to be. 20 minute assembly, sturdier than ordinary foam junk, flies great, what more could you want? Only critique I have is that the pushrods are a little more flexible than I like but easily fixed with a tube and some glue. Right now, this is the best buy in R/C - no way this should sell as cheaply as it does.

By pass it and use the Spektrum AS3X.
